I wished I had a dollar for every time I have heard that since in some lame twisted idea came to my transom about using that for an ID. To use "BottleOfPills" for most ID's that this fancy internet thing called on me to input.
I realize I haven't written in about a week, so I thought I'd provide a filler post.
Basically it came to mind when another cleverly picked ID came to a demise. That cleverly picked ID was - Misery_Inc. I would probably be using it today still if not for some crazy internet fluke malfunction.
Well the other day I received a very cool package containing someone's best of collection from 2009. You may remember Jim wrote a guest review for my last year. So you have him to thank once again for today's wasted time.
Pretty much every year I send out a cheap ass Christmas gift to very select group of VIP's. (hey if you didn't receive one, chances are I realized you probably didn't want it or I forgot to send it to you anyway ). This gift is a compilation CD of my favorite tunes from the previous year. Remember I posted on this not too long ago... That's what I'm talking about.
Well I must have been a Trendsetter for Jim as he has done similarly. Actually much like the current state of the Music Industry, he has realized that my distribution model is out dated. Simply sending a playlist in lieu of an actual CD and a nice Album Cover (pretty cool pic of Morgantown if you ask me). I have been one upped - hell more than that I have been "Two Upped".
But due to lack of current insightful wisdom and writing material today... Let's take a closer look at Jim Ok he's going by the pseudo name of "Fanch's Comet", so let me say Let's take a closer look at Fanche's Comet's selection for 2009....
During the winter months I find that I spend a great deal of time riding in doors. If one has ever ridden in doors you know how boring this can be... hell I've written about it several times.
We are in the middle of a major home improvement project that has a completion date of March 20 plus or minus - more on the project and the completion date at another time. So I'm trying to get as much done on this project without letting it become a job.
You know what I mean? This project is fun at the moment, but as it lingers and the completion date gets nearer and nearer all of a sudden this project that is fun becomes a job and quickly turns into the proverbial pain in the ass. So my plan is to do a little each day.
In doing a little each day it allows me to also do a few other things - some people call this "multitasking".. Susan probably thinks of it as "not staying on task", but everyone's entitled to their opinion.
So yesterday to "stay on task", I decided to ride for an hour on the trainer - I theory you can better train on a trainer. So I did..
One secret to riding on the trainer is - Intervals.

As you know by one of my Facebook post's yesterday that I went to the Y. BTW - why is it that every time I mention that I go to the Y that someone comments: "Did they put a bar in?" Is my lifestyle that obvious?
hmmm
But yes I did go and no they have no bar, but I did have a glass of Scotch later in the evening - on the rocks as they say. Single Malt Glenfiddich to be exact. One glass though, as I mentioned yesterday I'm watching my girlish figure.
This morning was another jog prior to work - a whopping two miles. Unlike Fatty I will not be doing any IronMan events this year. So why am I jogging - I don't know.
Susan and I have plans this eve after work, so squeezing in a workout in the evening is unlikely- shit let's just call it impossible because once we sit down to eat, I'm having a nice ice cold pilsner. or two. or three. or... well you get the picture.
Merry Christmas
everyone it's that fabulous time of year again.
The time of giving, the time of receiving, the time of complaining, and the time for spirits.
Let me go get another sip of eggnog and Southern Comfort.
2009 was another great year ~ for music.
After all it wasn't that great, I mean I did not win the lottery, nor did Susan. The dogs didn't manage to dig up a pot of gold in the back yard.
The kids did make straight A's in school, well at least compared to what my grades were like when I was their age. My job didn't get any worse.. so it was good.
But for music, at least for us balding, fattening, middle-aged metal heads, it wasn't too damned bad.
Let's summarize -
The year closed out with one of the best metal albums from one of the best metal bands - Slayer and their disc World Painted Blood. Hate Worldwide is one of my favorite tracks off that disc.

The next tack to mention is from a band called Dope and their disc No Regrets. The song is called Addiction and features Zakk Wylde (before he was fired as Ozzy's guitarist). This is a band I wasn't too familiar with but I kept hearing this song on the radio and thought I'd give it a spin. Pretty good, especially this song. Dope in my opinion trys too hard to be Rob Zombieesque, but it's an honest effort I guess and would recommend anyone checking them out.
BTW - these songs are in no particular order, well at least for some of you they may be.

As I mentioned yesterday I'm going through updating my music library in iTunes. A long time ago I went and put all of my CD's on my hard drive, hell I even did most of Susan's also. It's just so much easier to carry around one device to listen to and have all my music on it. Plus, I wanted a back up of all my music. Dogs chew on them, kids get paw prints on them. Etc.
Yesterday I said that when doing this the first time, well my quality sucked. So I'm redooing - IT ALL!!
Plus it's a way to go back and listen to stuff that I don't normally listen to. Wonder what the hell I was thinking when I bought this or that and why. Plus I get to refresh my memory as to why I hate certain songs ( typically those that Susan has as you'll soon see )

Well if anyone ever actually reads their Facebook posts, you'll note that last week (Thursday ? ) I posted I was revising my iTunes Library.
Why? I have no fucking clue... I'm bored and dorky like that. Actually I realized that when I went through and burned all of my discs to the ol' hard drive that I really didn't select a high enough recording quality.
Why did I do such a thing? No clue.. it goes back to my I D 10 T problem.
I don't claim to be an "audiophile" but, it sucks when you're listening to you're mp3 player and rocking out thinking your the shit, but then you put a CD in the ol' VW Van's stereo, and this antique system just kicks the shit out of the state of the art ipod currently connected to the home stereo.
Why? How's that happen? Because that CD is a way better recording.
That's right peeps... break out your bandanna , put your hat on backwards... and crack that bottle of Jack... because the other day - yesterday... this website ANTIQUIET leaked nine tracks that appear to be studio quality from Axl and co. That's right Guns N Roses - brand new.... if you search dillegently enough on the internet you can find a copy.

So what gives??? I don't know, I'm no music insider just an idiot with a keyboard and this internet soapbox. I do personally think they are legit. It may be a ploy by Axl vs the record company as per the leak a few years ago on Eddie Trunk's show, or it may be someone with an axe to grind after all it's been like thireen years that this disc has been in the works.... its about time someone did this. So does this grant me a free Dr. Pepper??

Protest the Hero - Fortress
In my eternal quest to find good new music, I stumbled across this band on Metalsucks ( which is quickly taking over Metal Sludge)
So I thought I'd try it out - I think I got my copy a couple of weeks ago at Best Buy for like $12.99
Immediately on my first listen my thoughts were wow - this is the band System of a Down wanted to be. And after listening for a couple weeks - well that hasn't changed.
Ok.. just some house cleaning today... not that you care...
First.. as you can see I created a stupid banner in Photoshop. I hope to improve that at some point but for now... I'll leave it.
Second.. added a photo album of the trip to Canaan last week - as you can see I didn't take very many photos.. simply just some pictures of some deer and me riding around.
Third.. Remember the days of Napster? Well some friends showed me a cool website - YouSendIt.Com - where you can send large files.. For sending files less than 100MB - it's free. (course there's some other restrictions but for the most part it's free). How does this relate to Napster? Well if you have a group of MP3's just simply zip them in windows and upload them to YouSendIt.Com - then send your friends an email and they will then have them to where they can listen as they please.
Also while I've been away I've bought several CD's - one of the best ones by far is Inflikted - by Cavalera Conspiracy. Kicks Ass... It's been getting great reviews all over and I have to say it's the best metal LP I've purchased in some time. Old school Sepultura that doesn't sound old. Title Track ~ Inflikted ~ is "mother fuckin' wicked". Rex Brown (Down, former Pantera) guests on one of the songs.. This album all around rocks.
I'll give some brief reviews of other albums I've waisted my money on in the coming days, weeks especially when things are slow.
Yesterday, went to the Y - no haven't done any more swimming.. nuff said about that.
Today - some yard work, maybe will be able to get a ride in...
