Yes it's that time of the year again that I've mentioned before. Jump start the ol'e fitness program again.
I've mentioned it time and time again on this blog:
I start out good -
I see some gains -
I reward myself -
I coast along -
I binge -
I slack -
I step on the scale -
This stepping on the scale part is where it should stop, and I should resume getting back on track. However for about another thirty days I continue to
Coast along -
binge -
slack -
Step on the scale again..
This past Sunday was that scale stepping day again. Now here you may be thinking that the result is going to be outrageous, which in someways it probably is. But it's not as bad as I thought.
You see back in January, I weighed close to 250lbs. I said to myself by the end of July I'm going to weigh 205lbs. You know it sounds simple enough, after all it's only transposing the "0" and the "5" correct?
That goal would have been close to 45lbs in seven months. Is that possible? Is it possible doing it in a healthy manner? I don't know that's not my field of expertise.
Typically when I set goals for myself, I have to have a reason for said goal. (it's my blog, so it's my logic, if you don't subscribe to it, simply quit reading). So for my reasoning I decided I'm going to do six mountain bike races and try to be somewhat competitive in.
Well, it's damn close to July and as you can guess - I've failed. But failing has to be looked at. Was the goal obtainable? (probably) Did I work as hard as I possibly could? (probably not)
To make a boring blog post that much longer - I weigh 230. That's 20lbs less than January and 25lbs shy of my goal (but I have some time to go still to put things on the shy side of fifty). I've only raced in one mountain bike race (which I wasn't competitive in at all), and doing six is going to be a stretch for various reasons.
So on Monday I decided to get the ball rolling again. Ate well and exercised.
Tuesday (Today) so far so good. Two pieces of steamed flounder for breakfast, and snacked on fruit. Lunch will be some chicken stir-fry.
